Michael and Odessa Rose were born and reared in Baltimore City, where they still live with their three children.

 

Michael graduated from Northwestern High School, then earned a degree in communications from James Madison University.  He coaches track and field at Digital Harbor High School.

 

Odessa Rose graduated from Northwestern High school.  She attended Coppin State University, where she earned a degree in English.  She went onto earn a master's degree in literature from the University of Maryland at College Park.  Odessa is also the author of two works of fiction, Water In A Broken Glass and In The Mirror.
